Emanuele d'Astorga’s musical talent was developed in Naples under the guidance of the brothers Francesco and Alessandro Scarlatti, with Alessandro recognized as his mentor. His early musical education is also said to have begun in Palermo under Francesco Scarlatti, after which his training continued and deepened under Alessandro’s instruction in Naples. Contemporary accounts describe Astorga as a true pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti, whose influence is evident in Astorga’s celebrated Italian solo cantatas.
