Leonid Roizman studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the organ class of Alexander Goedicke. He graduated in 1941 and completed his postgraduate studies with Goedicke in 1946. Following Goedicke's death in 1957, Roizman took over the organ class at the conservatory.
