Giacomo Meyerbeer studied music theory and composition under the German kapellmeister Bernhard Anselm Weber in Berlin. This period of instruction occurred alongside his studies with Antonio Salieri and Carl Friedrich Zelter between 1805 and 1807, forming an important part of Meyerbeer's early musical education. Weber, already an established composer and court kapellmeister, contributed to Meyerbeer's foundational training during the formative years of his development as a young composer.
