Tatiana Goldfarb studied in Berta Reingbald's class at the Odessa Conservatory in the late 1920s and graduated in 1932. In 1932, Reingbald brought her student to Moscow and presented her to Heinrich Neuhaus, who recommended that Goldfarb take part in the First All-Union Competition of Performing Musicians in 1933.
