Daniel Barenboim and Jacqueline du Pré married at the Western Wall in Jerusalem on 15 June 1967; du Pré converted from Anglicanism to Judaism for him.
They often performed together, with Barenboim conducting or playing piano, and formed a piano trio with Pinchas Zukerman in 1968. Du Pré died in 1987.
