Evgeny Liberman was the father of Karina Yevgenyevna Arzumanova, who is the wife of pianist Evgeny Kissin. This made Liberman Kissin's father-in-law.
Liberman also wrote about Kissin's performances, including the 1984 annotation for Melodiya to Kissin's first solo record and the 1985 piece "Zhenya Kisin" in the magazine Melodiya.
