In 1943, Alexander Kholminov enrolled in the composition department of the Musical College at the Moscow Conservatory, where Evgeny Messner and I. Sposobin supervised his studies. Kholminov completed the college course in a year and a half and received a recommendation to enter the conservatory in 1944.
