Vincenzo Lavigna studied under Fedele Fenaroli at the Conservatory of Santa Maria di Loreto in Naples. Lavigna entered the institution in 1790 at the age of twelve and remained there until 1799, receiving instruction in singing and composition from Fenaroli, who was one of his principal teachers during this formative period.
