Giacomo Insanguine studied under Francesco Feo at the Conservatorio dei Poveri di Gesù Cristo in Naples, beginning in 1737 when he entered the institution. Feo, who had moved to this conservatory in 1739 after leaving Sant'Onofrio, taught Insanguine there until the conservatory was abolished in 1743. During these years Feo served as one of the principal instructors, and Insanguine received his early musical training under his guidance.
