Anna Sachse-Hofmeister studied under Georg Hellmesberger during her formative years at the Vienna Conservatory between 1864 and 1866. Hellmesberger, an esteemed Austrian violinist, conductor, and long‑time professor at the conservatory, provided her with violin instruction at a time when she was preparing for a potential career as a violinist before turning to opera.

The teacher–student relationship placed Sachse‑Hofmeister under the guidance of one of Vienna’s most influential musical educators, known for training many prominent performers. Although she later became celebrated primarily as an operatic soprano, her early musical development was shaped in part by Hellmesberger’s instruction, which contributed to the technical foundation of her artistic career.
