Bernhard Anselm Weber, born in 1766 in Mannheim, received his musical education under the renowned theorist Abbé Georg Joseph Vogler. Vogler had established a music school in Mannheim after his appointment as second Kapellmeister in 1775, and it was within this environment that Weber trained as Vogler’s pupil.
