Francesco Florimo studied under Giacomo Tritto after entering the music college of San Sebastiano in Naples in November 1817. At this institution, later transformed into the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory, Tritto served as one of his primary teachers, instructing him in subjects such as counterpoint during the early years of Florimo’s musical education.
