Pietro Raimondi studied composition and counterpoint under Giacomo Tritto at the Pietà dei Turchini Conservatory in Naples, where he was sent at a young age to receive his formal musical education. Tritto, already an established composer and pedagogue, played a decisive role in Raimondi’s early training, providing him with the foundations of the Neapolitan school and shaping his mastery of counterpoint, which later became a defining aspect of Raimondi’s work.
