Some sources indicate that Antonio Vivaldi studied music theory and composition under Giovanni Legrenzi. However, many researchers question the validity of this mentorship, noting that Legrenzi died in 1690. Despite the uncertainty regarding formal instruction, the scholar Walter Kolneder observed the influence of Legrenzi's style in one of Vivaldi's early works, Laetatus sum..., which was written in 1691.
