Andrea Favi studied music at the Philharmonic Academy of Bologna under the composer and priest Giovanni Battista Martini. This period of study, completed in 1765, placed Favi under the guidance of one of the most prominent music pedagogues of eighteenth‑century Italy, connecting him directly to Martini’s influential tradition of counterpoint and sacred composition.
