Lauro Rossi studied under Girolamo Crescentini at the San Sebastiano music college in Naples, where he enrolled in 1822. Crescentini, already a renowned castrato singer and respected teacher, was among the instructors who shaped Rossi’s early musical education, alongside Giovanni Furno and Niccolò Antonio Zingarelli. Rossi remained under their instruction until completing his studies in 1829, a formative period that preceded his debut as an opera composer.
