Ignaz Moscheles was one of Ernst Rudorff's teachers at the Leipzig Conservatory. Rudorff studied there under Moscheles, Louis Plaidy, and Julius Rietz after studying in Berlin from 1852 to 1857 with Woldemar Bargiel.
