Louis Schlosser studied under Jean-François Lesueur in Paris after completing his earlier musical training in Vienna. As a scholarship-supported young musician, he continued his education in Paris, where Lesueur, a prominent French composer and professor at the Conservatoire, was one of his teachers. This period of study connected Schlosser with one of the leading pedagogues of early 19th‑century France.
