Vincenzo Legrenzio Ciampi studied under Leonardo Leo at the Naples Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini, where he was one of Leo's pupils. This period of study, taking place during Ciampi's musical formation in Naples, linked the young composer directly to the Neapolitan school through Leo's instruction.
