Elizaveta Gilels was the wife of violinist Leonid Kogan. They had two children, Pavel Kogan (born 1952) and Nina Kogan (born 1954). After marrying Kogan, Gilels moved into teaching.
In 1966, they performed Franco Mannino's Concerto for Three Violins with their son Pavel in Leonid Kogan's family violin ensemble; Mannino travelled from Italy for the concert.
