Charles Couperin was the brother of Louis Couperin. Louis Couperin was the elder brother, and Charles was one of his two younger brothers.
On Christmas Day 1661, Charles received a six-year contract at the church of Saint-Gervais to succeed his deceased brother Louis Couperin.
