Ferdinand Laub studied under Moritz Mildner after the latter heard him perform in Prague as a child and became interested in his talent. Mildner agreed to teach Laub free of charge, marking the beginning of a formative pedagogical relationship between the young violinist and the established Czech musician.
From 1843 to 1846 Laub was formally a student of Mildner at the Prague Conservatory, where he received structured violin training that helped shape his early artistic development. Mildner, already known as a respected violinist and educator, played a crucial role in refining Laub’s technique and setting the foundation for his later international career.
