1704 - 1712. During these years Michele Falco studied music under Nicola Fago at the Conservatory of Sant'Onofrio in Naples, where he is believed to have been one of Fago’s pupils. Falco, who may have been an orphan or illegitimate child, received his foundational musical training under Fago’s guidance.

While still a student, Falco debuted as an opera composer in 1709 and later collaborated with Fago on his second opera, Lo Masillo, in 1712. This collaboration reflects the close artistic relationship between teacher and student during Falco’s formative period.
