In 1722 Johann Adolf Hasse moved to Italy and settled in Naples, where he studied under Nicola Porpora. During his time in Naples, Porpora served as Hasse’s teacher, providing instruction that contributed to the young composer’s early development and integration into the Neapolitan musical world.
