Nina Dorliak taught solo singing at the Moscow Conservatory from 1935 and became a professor there in 1947. Erik Kurmangaliev was one of her students; after graduating from the Gnessin State Musical Pedagogical Institute in 1985, he undertook postgraduate training at the Moscow Conservatory under Professor Nina Dorliak.
