Johannes Eccard studied under Orlando di Lasso after arriving in Munich at the age of eighteen, where he sang in Lasso’s chapel and received his musical training as Lasso’s pupil. During this period, he also traveled with Lasso, including a reported visit to Paris, gaining early artistic experience under the guidance of his master.
