Constantino Vicente Gaito studied composition under Pietro Platania while attending the Naples Conservatory San Pietro a Majella in Naples. Platania, an Italian composer and respected pedagogue known for his mastery of counterpoint, served as Gaito’s teacher during the latter’s formative musical training before Gaito returned to Argentina in 1900.
