Pietro Raimondi served as one of Vincenzo Bellini’s teachers during Bellini’s years of study in Naples. After Raimondi assumed joint leadership of the composition and counterpoint department at the Royal Musical College in Naples in 1825, Bellini became one of his students, receiving instruction in composition and counterpoint under his guidance.
