Starting in 1913, Lev Revutsky studied composition under Reinhold Glière at the Kiev Conservatory (now the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine). Revutsky graduated from the institution in 1916. During this period, Glière served as a professor at the conservatory, counting Revutsky among his students.
