Berta Solomonovna Marants was the first wife of Semyon Solomonovich Benditsky. Both were pianists and music teachers; Benditsky was a professor, and Marants was also a professor. They had two children from this marriage: Alexander Semyonovich, a composer, and Igor Semyonovich (1941–2011), a pianist and professor at the Rostov Conservatory.
