Serafima Mogilevskaya was the daughter of Leonid Yakovlevich Mogilevsky. He was a trumpeter, conductor, and music teacher, one of the founders and first teachers of the Odessa Conservatory.
Leonid Mogilevsky was born in Odessa on 18 February 1886 and died there on 25 June 1950. Serafima Mogilevskaya was born in Odessa on 15 November 1915. Leonid Mogilevsky is described as the founder of a musical dynasty whose daughter was the pianist and music teacher Serafima Mogilevskaya.
