Aram Khachaturian studied instrumentation under Sergei Vasilenko at the Moscow Conservatory after entering the conservatory in 1929.
Sergei Vasilenko, who taught instrumentation and composition at the Moscow Conservatory, trained a number of well-known musicians there, including Aram Khachaturian.
