Josef Dessauer studied composition under Vaclav Tomashek at the Prague Conservatory, where Tomashek played a formative role in shaping his early musical development.
Tomashek also introduced Dessauer to Frantisek Palacky, who later became one of his close friends, strengthening the personal and intellectual network that influenced Dessauer’s later career.
