Vera Gornostayeva was Lukas Geniušas's grandmother. She played a significant role in his development as a musician, and he studied in her class, graduating from the Frédéric Chopin Moscow State College of Musical Performance in 2008 and from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 2013.
