Thomas Attwood studied under Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna, where he became one of Mozart’s favored pupils. After earlier musical training in London and Naples, Attwood moved to the Austrian capital and continued his education directly under Mozart’s guidance. This period of study occurred before Attwood’s return to England in 1786, during Mozart’s mature Viennese years, allowing Attwood to learn composition and performance from one of the leading composers of the Classical era.
