Grigory Pekker was a student of Yevgeny Wolf-Israel. In 1919, after his previous teacher L. Abbiate left Russia, Pekker transferred to Wolf-Israel's class at the conservatory. He graduated from the institution in 1924. Wolf-Israel counts Pekker among his pupils.
