Alexander Weisfeld (10 January 1919–2000) was a Soviet and Ukrainian violinist and music teacher. He was born in the town of Sataniv and died in Lviv.
Weisfeld studied violin in Kamianets-Podilskyi with Zdenek Kominek. He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory, where his teachers were Professors David Berthier and Yakiv Mahaziner.
In late 1969 and early 1970, he played second violin in the Lviv String Quartet, alongside first violinist A. Derkach, violist Z. Dashak, and cellist K. Kolessa. The ensemble performed, among other works, I. Marton's Poem for String Quartet at the House of Composers in Kyiv.
Living in Lviv, Weisfeld served as acting associate professor at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory and taught at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School. For 30 years, he directed a violin ensemble founded by Professor Pavlo Makarenko.
His pupils included Yuriy Korchynskyi, winner of the First Prize at the Niccolò Paganini International Violin Competition; Honored Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Duda; Ihor Hrynkov; Nataliia Kostyk; Volodymyr Kotsiuruba; Yuriy Sokolovskyi; Honored Artist of Ukraine Nataliia Mandryka; Yuriy Voitynskyi; Oleksandr Mazepa; and Volodymyr Mykytka.
