Alla Brosterman

Alla Brosterman is a Russian pianist and accompanist. She was born on April 1, 1943, in Primorsky Krai, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Soviet Union. In 2010 she was named Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

She was born into the family of David Brosterman (1907–2002). She graduated from the Kishinev Conservatory, the G. Musicescu Institute of Arts, in 1966, where she studied in the class of Professor E. S. Zak.

From 1968 to 1976, Brosterman worked at the Moldavian State Opera and Ballet Theatre. There she served as accompanist to Maria Bieshu, People's Artist of the USSR.

From 1976 she worked at the Leningrad Maly Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 1989 she became a leading accompanist at the Mariinsky Theatre.

She was the principal accompanist for productions of the operas Don Carlos, Otello, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, The Miserly Knight, The Force of Destiny, Aida, Turandot, La Traviata, Samson and Delilah, Norma, and Simon Boccanegra. She also worked as accompanist for the Easter Festival. In 2012 she became a laureate of the St. Petersburg audience society award "Teatral."
