Anna Tulashvili was a Georgian pianist and teacher, born in Tbilisi on March 9, 1874. She studied piano in Tbilisi with Aloysius Mizandari and in Paris with Louis Diémer.
From 1903, Tulashvili taught piano at the Tbilisi Music School. In 1917 she joined the Tbilisi Conservatory, where she became Georgia’s first woman professor of music in 1925. From 1926 to 1948, with an interruption, she served as dean of the piano faculty and head of its piano department. Her students included Rudolf Kerer, Tengiz Amirajibi, Eduard Grikurov, Nelly Gachechiladze, and Wanda Shiukashvili.
Tulashvili was named an Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR in 1941. She died in Tbilisi on May 27, 1956.
