David Sergeyevich Krein (born David Abramovich Krein; 1869–1926) was a Russian and Soviet violinist and music teacher. He was the brother of composers Alexander and Grigory Krein.
He began studying music with his father, Abram Hirshovich Krein, then studied with Vasily Villuan in Nizhny Novgorod and at the Moscow Conservatory with Ivan Grzhimali from 1884 to 1888. From 1885, he played second violin in the string quartet of the Moscow branch of the Imperial Russian Musical Society.
In 1898, Krein joined the Bolshoi Theatre orchestra as concertmaster and remained there until his death. He also continued his work as an ensemble musician with the Moscow Trio, led by David Shor. From 1918, he was a professor at the Moscow Conservatory. His students included Semyon Bezrodny and Vasily Shirinsky. He wrote pieces for violin and piano, and was named Honored Artist of the Republic in 1924.
Krein died by suicide in Moscow on August 26, 1926, two hours before a court hearing concerning the seizure of his living quarters. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
