Dmitry Onishchenko is a pianist. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in 2006 and completed postgraduate studies there in 2009. His teachers included Yuri Lisichenko, Lev Naumov, and Andrei Diev.

In 2003–2004 he also studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in the class of Professor Norma Fisher. From 2006 to 2013 he continued advanced studies at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Professors Vladimir Krainev and Arie Vardi.

Onishchenko is a winner and laureate of numerous international piano competitions. He won competitions associated with Vladimir Krainev in Kharkiv, the Vladimir Horowitz competition in Kyiv, and a competition in Enschede in the Netherlands. He also received prizes at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Hamamatsu competition in Japan, the Vianna da Motta competition in Lisbon, the Sydney competition, and others.

He has performed in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Germany, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Jordan, China, the United States, Japan, and Australia. His concerts have taken place on many well-known stages.

From 2015 to 2019 he served as chairman of the jury of the festival-competition Magic of Sound. He also took part in the jury work of competitions including Musical Box in Verkhnyaya Salda, Vivat Musica in Moscow, and Musical Province in Shchyokino, and he gives master classes in a number of countries.
