Dmitry Shishkin is a Russian pianist, born on 12 February 1992 in Chelyabinsk. He is the son of a piano teacher. He began studying music before the age of three, and at six years old he became a prize-winner at a young pianists' competition in Chelyabinsk.

In 2004, Shishkin won the Nutcracker young pianists' competition. He graduated from the Gnessin School, where he studied with Mikhail Khokhlov, and then from the Moscow Conservatory in 2015, where he studied in the class of Eliso Virsaladze.

He has received prizes at many international competitions. Among them are third prize at the Busoni Competition in 2013 and sixth prize at the Chopin Competition in 2015. In 2018, he won the Geneva International Music Competition, sharing first place with the French pianist Theo Fouchenneret. In 2019, he became a prize-winner of the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition, receiving second prize.

He currently lives in Switzerland. Shishkin also appeared in the documentary film I Begin the Journey in 1999.
