1911 (New York City) — 1974 (Como)

Helen Schnabel was an American pianist, born Helen Vogel in New York City on July 22, 1911. A child prodigy, she studied in New York with Manfred Malkin and then at the Juilliard School with Alexander Siloti. She made her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of nine.
