Ivo Janssen is a Dutch pianist, born in Venlo in 1963.
He studied with Jan Wijn at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and completed his studies with Robert Levin. He won several prizes and made his debut at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw in 1988.
Between 1994 and 2006, Janssen recorded the complete keyboard works of Johann Sebastian Bach for his own label, VOID Classics. His other notable recordings include an interpretation of Paul Hindemith's Ludus Tonalis and a project pairing Bach's toccatas with those by Dutch composers Louis Andriessen, Michiel Borstlap, Leo Samama and Christina Viola Oorebeek.
Janssen was also known as a chamber musician. He performed with soprano Charlotte Margiono, saxophonist Arno Bornkamp, cellist Heinrich Schiff, the Matangi Quartet, the Calefax Reed Quintet, and the writer and poet Anna Enquist.
He ended his professional piano career after hand operations resulting from Dupuytren's disease.
