Mirsa Adami is an Albanian-born pianist who lives and works in the Netherlands. She was born in Tirana in 1975.
Adami first studied in Tirana with Elsa Veizi and Takuina Adami, where she already performed with orchestras and gave many concerts. She moved to the Netherlands in 1991, studying with Jan Huizing in Groningen and then with Jan Wijn at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. In 2000, she graduated with distinction as a performing musician.
She has appeared several times at the Grachtenfestival and has given concerts in the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan. In 2004 she made her first appearance in the Main Hall of Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, performing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the VU Orchestra conducted by Daan Admiraal.
Her concerto repertoire has included Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, which she performed at the Concertgebouw Haarlem with the Kennemer Youth Orchestra under Mathijs Broers and in Tirana with the Albanian Radio Orchestra conducted by Leonid Nikolayev. She has also appeared as soloist in piano concertos by Mozart, Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, and Carl Maria von Weber's Konzertstück.
Active in chamber music, Adami has maintained a duo with violinist Cecilia Bernardini; together they won the Concertgebouw's Vriendenkrans award in 2003. She has also performed with violinist Birthe Blom in programmes of First Viennese School music, with the Darius Ensemble at the Concertgebouw in 2005, and with Norwegian cellist Håkon Samuelsen in the Masters on Tour series in Amsterdam, Bratislava, and Riga.
Since graduating, Adami has worked as a vocal coach at the New Opera Academy in Amsterdam. She accompanies cellists during the annual Holland Music Sessions masterclasses and organized children's concerts in and around Apeldoorn as part of that festival in 2003. She has collaborated with the writers Willem Jan Otten and Vonne van der Meer, and often recites poetry in her concerts. Since 2007, she has been one of the pianists and presenters on the Classic Express bus, a Princess Christina Competition project that brings classical chamber music to primary-school pupils.
In 2015, Adami received the Tin Medal of the French Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres.
