Heinrich Neuhaus was Yuri Muravyov's piano teacher at the Moscow Conservatory. Muravyov graduated with honors from the Moscow Conservatory in 1952 from the piano class of Professor G. G. Neuhaus, and in 1955 he completed postgraduate studies in piano under the supervision of G. G. Neuhaus.
