After graduating from school and moving to Tiflis in 1910, Tamara Shaverzashvili entered Ilya Aisberg's piano class at the music school of the Tiflis branch of the Imperial Russian Musical Society. She continued studying with him after the school was transformed into the Tbilisi Conservatory in 1917, where Aisberg was a professor.
