Leopold Auer was Kathleen Parlow's teacher. In 1906 she went with her mother to Saint Petersburg to take lessons from him, and in the autumn of that year she became the first foreign student at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
Parlow later worked out a new repertoire with Auer every summer until 1915.
